About the Role
The role encompasses the intake of patients, overseeing and performing COVID-19 testing procedures, performing vaccinations, and patient observation at nursing homes throughout
Illinois. Prism Health Lab is looking to hire Medical Assistants.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist patients by providing them with information, services, and assistance.
Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording their medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit through the EMR portal.
Maintain PPE Compliance.
Assist our clinicians by preparing instruments for vaccinations.
Perform nasopharyngeal swabs and saliva sampling.
Take blood pressure, pulse/oxygen saturation, and temperature.
Set up and take down the vaccination/testing site.
Ability to perform basic IM, sub-Q, and intradermal injections.
Maintain the medical supplies inventory and perform preventive maintenance to keep
medical equipment operating.
Secure patient information by completing and safeguarding medical records by following
and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following
standards and procedures.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading
professional publications.
Serve and protect the practice by adhering to professional standards, facility policies and
procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
Enhance practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different
requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements
EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE | LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Must supply MA certification.
Must supply BLS certificate to date
1+ years in a medical office (Preferred)
Vaccination administration experience (Preferred)
EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
Experience with medical terminology
Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
Fluent in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or another second language is
highly desired
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Clinical qualifications accepted: CMAs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Adaptable to dynamic environments and skilled in creating a safe and efficient `
environment.
Disease Management / Safety
Patient-centered and compassionate care-oriented.
Organized and professional
Computer proficient
MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
COVID-19 & HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS:
All Back to Health Employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before
beginning employment.
All employees must wear a mask properly at all times.
Recent TB test results are required; the test results should not be older than a month. ( Back to Health offers TB testing at 12647 S Justine St. Calumet Park IL)
